In the heart of Frankfurt stands FOUR, a modern urban complex where living, working, shopping and leisure come together. Grijsen supplied specially designed street furniture for the courtyard, bringing the public space to life.

About FOUR Frankfurt

FOUR Frankfurt is a large, new district in the centre of Frankfurt am Main, on the site of the former Deutsche Bank. 

The project consists of four high towers with different functions: offices, apartments, hotels, shops and restaurants. With a gross floor area of approximately 213,000 m², FOUR is designed as a hybrid of living, working, shopping and leisure. It brings together working, living and staying in the city with convenience. 

Public space will be created between the towers: squares, passageways, urban connections and public roof gardens. 

In short: FOUR Frankfurt is not a standard office building, but a new, complete urban district; modern, mixed-use, open to everyone. 

About the Street Furniture at FOUR Frankfurt

Grijsen supplied custom-made street furniture for the courtyard and public spaces of FOUR Frankfurt. This included several elements.

Custom-made seating elements, inspired by our own PLANE SOLID series. Together with the architecture, these form a harmonious whole. The seating elements are fitted with grilles to ensure air ventilation from the underground car parks. This maintains functionality and comfort, even in a complex urban setting with underground car parks.

In addition, seating edges with lighting have been placed on stone elements. This creates atmosphere, usability in the evening and a neat, inviting appearance.

Planters with seating around them have been installed, bringing together greenery, seating and tranquillity. This contributes to the perception of the courtyard as an inviting place to spend time.

Of course, litter bins are also provided: they help to keep this new public space clean and tidy, in line with the quality standard of the project.

Together, these elements make the courtyard of FOUR Frankfurt a place that is not only beautiful, but also practical, user-friendly and tailored to the mix of functions and users: residents, office workers, hotel guests and visitors.
