The conference focuses on post-industrial landscapes, addressing regeneration, climate adaptation, and the relationship between environmental, social, and economic transformation. The programme combines lectures, panel discussions, and site visits.

The programme brings together speakers from across Europe, including:

Marc Montlleó Balsebre (ES) – Barcelona Nature Plan 2030
Jan Schollaert (BE) – mobility and public space

Additional contributions come from practitioners and researchers based in the Czech Republic, Poland, and the Netherlands, addressing regional transformation processes and planning strategies.

Sessions are structured around key themes:

Post-industrial transformation – regeneration of Vítkovice and the Ostravice area
Urban ecology – “Fourth Nature” and low-cost landscape strategies
Planning and governance – regional development and resilience
Mobility and public space – transport as part of landscape systems

The programme includes panel discussions, lectures, and case studies, followed by guided excursions through Ostrava’s post-industrial sites, including slag heaps and redevelopment areas.

The conference will be held in Czech and English (with simultaneous interpretation).
