30 October / Radicepura Garden Festival

News

The Radicepura Garden Festival has opened its Call for Ideas for its sixth edition, to be held in Sicily, Italy. Founded in 2017, the festival is the first international biennial dedicated to the Mediterranean landscape, inviting young professionals to reimagine the region through the design of temporary gardens. The festival is free to enter and open to professionals under 36.

This edition’s theme is Gardens of Hope: Cultivating Coexistence, asking participants to create gardens that celebrate biodiversity and the relationship between people, culture, and the natural environment. “It is a place for human and botanical coexistence, where the slow rhythm of growth teaches us patience and harmony,” says artistic director Emanuela Rosa-Clot. “A garden that is both a sanctuary and a classroom, where humans and plants truly live in dialogue rather than humans simply shaping nature.”

The call is open to students and young professionals, including landscape architects, garden designers, architects, agronomists, botanists, nurserymen, urban planners, engineers, artists, and curators.

Submitted gardens should be innovative, attractive, and functional, with a clear design concept that engages visitors and fosters a positive relationship between people and the Mediterranean landscape.

Applications must be submitted by 30 October 2026.
