Stella Park

Designed by Espace Libre

Location: France — Type: Skate — Built: 2022 Show on Google Maps

Between Place de l’Étoile and the seafront, the Stella Plage Skate Park embodies a new chapter in the revitalization of the coastal town of Stella-Plage. Integrated within a wider urban and landscape renewal strategy, the project connects several key developments — the redesign of Place de l’Étoile, the creation of ecological corridors along the Cours des Champs-Élysées, and a new housing program. Positioned at the intersection of these initiatives, the skate park serves as a central landmark for the neighborhood — a dynamic, open-air destination that celebrates community, movement, and nature.

Conceived as both a sports facility and a landscaped park, Stella Park weaves together vegetation, pathways, and recreational zones into a seamless public realm. The design draws inspiration from the fluidity of the sea and the softness of coastal dunes, expressed through a sculptural play of concrete curves where topography and motion become one. Around the main skating areas, peripheral features — including a mini climbing wall, basketball hoop, terraces, and scenic lookouts — extend the park’s atmosphere of freedom and leisure.

Welcoming all forms of urban riding, Stella Park is intentionally unfenced, encouraging spontaneous exploration and social interaction. Completed in April 2022, it has quickly become a vibrant, shared landscape — a landmark where sport, architecture, and the natural character of the coastline converge in a bold expression of contemporary outdoor design.
