Established in Sydney in 2011, Arcadia is an award-winning landscape architecture and urban design practice working at the intersection of the built environment and natural systems with the understanding of First Nations occupation, cultural engagement and land management.

Now with eight studios across Australia and New Zealand, Arcadia brings together landscape architects, urban designers, First Nations designers and consultants, alongside in-house specialists in technology, sustainability and delivery, all united in Arcadia’s purpose: Partnering to enrich community and Country.

A core aspect of Arcadia’s approach is the meaningful integration of Indigenous knowledge into contemporary design processes. By engaging with First Nations values, stories and environmental practices, Arcadia seeks to reveal deeper layers of meaning and connection within the landscape, informing materiality and programming and contributing to places that are welcoming, respectful and enduring.

Across all typologies, Arcadia advocates for landscapes that shape social life while supporting biodiversity and sustainability. Collaboration is central to Arcadia’s work and we foster long-standing partnerships with architects, planners, engineers and communities to deliver mixed-use precincts, civic spaces, health, education, transport, defence and sports and recreation projects.

Arcadia leverages advanced technology to deliver innovative design solutions. Advanced digital tools, including Landscape Information Modelling (LIM), are used to test, visualise and refine design outcomes, enabling precision, coordination and informed decision-making from concept through delivery. Technology is viewed as a means to enhance design quality, environmental performance and long-term stewardship.

At the heart of Arcadia’s practice is a commitment to sustainable design. By fostering reciprocal relationships between people, place and ecology, the practice aims to create landscapes that extend value well beyond project completion. This regenerative ethos closely aligns with First Nations understandings of Country as a living entity, reinforcing Arcadia’s ambition to contribute to a more resilient and culturally enriched future.
