gruppe F was founded in 1992 and is a Berlin based landscape architecture office – and much more. A wide ranging team consisting of landscape architects and planners, ecologists, geographers as well as sociologists and city planners working in a broad spectrum of open space planning. From strategic, large scale concepts to detailed solutions for small spaces. Participation of the users in the planning process is one of our main interests.

gruppe F | Freiraum für alle GmbH is a team of over 60 landscape architects, ecologists, geographers as well as sociologists and city planners. We work by the credo in our name, to design and build spaces that are open and provide possibilities to all.

In over 30 years of professional experience we have built up expertise in urban planning and citizen participation. At the same time we have changed considerably. By organizing the office and our projects in sociocratic circles, we work on par with our colleagues and with the agility that our work requires. In recent years we have been using design thinking and online participation as tools to super charge the co-creation of sustainable spaces and ideas.

We want our work to speak for itself, from building up small community gardens, to the development of parks, squares, and playgrounds, to the facilitation of citizen participation processes in social hotspots, to city-wide strategies for climate resilient street trees. Our employers and collaborators include municipalities, housing companies, government agencies, universities and more.
