“Landscape never has only one dimension: it is a knowledge that connects history and nature, culture and ideas, progress and inspiration.”
PAISA’ Landscape Architecture is a multidisciplinary studio founded by Antonio Stignani in 2014, based in Ravenna and Milan, Italy. Shaped by an international and diverse team, the studio works across landscape, architecture, ecology, and urban design. Its approach is grounded in the belief that landscape is not merely an aesthetic backdrop, but a living framework that shapes and supports architecture. As our founder often says, we are farmers — cultivating the land and helping the landscape become fruitful, with care for the places we work in and the communities that inhabit them.
Landscape is knowledge
At PAISA’, landscape is never a decorative layer, but a system that shapes how spaces are conceived, experienced, and sustained over time. The studio works across natural areas and parks, green infrastructures, urban spaces, and territorial-scale projects, guided by the understanding that landscape is a carrier of knowledge. This perspective informs an approach rooted in ecological sustainability, contextual sensitivity, and a close relationship with local and pre-existing natural conditions. From the analysis of urban and natural territories to design development, construction management, and site supervision, PAISA’ ensures a continuous and integrated process from concept to realization.
Many ideas, one vision
We don’t believe in generic green solutions, rather we work to restore, enhance, and integrate landscapes, engaging in close and continuous dialogue with territory, culture, urban fabric, ecology, and community. The way of working is supported by a multidisciplinary team of landscape architects, architects, agronomists, naturalists, engineers, and designers, and by a broader network of national and international partners. Together, we share a combined vision of how green spaces can create environments that are visually, sensorially, physically, and ecologically meaningful.
We never stop starting
PAISA’ is often engaged in complex masterplans, urban regeneration, coastal landscape recovery, and mixed-use developments, approaching each project as an open and evolving process. Building on a journey that began 35 years ago with its founder, the studio combines long-standing experience with continuous curiosity to improve. Its practice spans landscape analysis, planning, design, and environmental recovery, including Territorial Landscape Plans for environmental protection and ecological system studies for urban planning, developing strategies that support the ongoing renewal of both natural and built landscapes — and treating every project as a new beginning grounded in place.
Green vocation and Ecological responsibility
This concept highlights PAISA’s approach to landscape design as a long-term commitment to caring for land, ecosystems, and the spaces people inhabit. This vocation extends to the restoration of historic landscapes, the design of public realm and soft infrastructure, and the integration of ecological networks within the built environment. Alongside design, PAISA’ brings strong expertise in ecology and environmental recovery, carrying out ecological and territorial analyses, supporting the regeneration of degraded sites. Through the development of environmental mitigation and compensation strategies, the studio works to create sustainable landscapes.
