31 January / Call for Abstracts: 2026 ECLAS Conference ‘Take Care’

News

The 2026 ECLAS (European Council of Landscape Architecture Schools) conference, hosted by TU Delft, invites abstract submissions under the theme Take Care – Planetary Landscape Architecture. In a time of environmental urgency, the conference proposes a reframing of landscape architecture as a practice of care – attentive to planetary limits, regional responsibilities, and local action.

Deadline: 31 January 2026
Conference dates: 16–19 September 2026
Location: TU Delft, the Netherlands (hybrid format)

The conference is organised around five tracks of care:

– Reframing Our Worldviews – Theory, ethics, discourse
– Design Methods and Tools – Techniques and instruments
– Engaging Diverse Voices – Actors, perspectives, positions
– Urgent Transitions – Challenges, adaptations, systems
– Transformative Education – Pedagogies, didactics, reform

Submissions are invited in two formats:

– Written abstracts for paper presentations (Dissemination Day)
– Visual/alternative contributions for workshops and discussions (Exchange Day)

The event is coordinated by the Dutch School of Landscape Architecture (DSL) in collaboration with seven partner institutions from the Netherlands and Flanders.

Submit by: 31 January 2026
