10 January / UIA 2026 Open Call: International Emerging Workshop

News

The UIA World Congress of Architects 2026, UIA2026BCN, announces the launch of the International Emerging Workshop, a one-week programme for students and recent graduates of architecture and related disciplines. The workshop will run from 19 to 27 June 2026, just ahead of the main congress (28 June–2 July 2026).

The event invites global participants to work on site-specific design challenges at Les Tres Xemeneies de Sant Adrià de Besòs, a major post-industrial site in Barcelona. Twelve emerging practices will lead the workshops, each framing design within themes such as more-than-human thinking, circularity, interdependence, embodiment, attunement, and hyper-consciousness.
